The traditional “Journée des Bourgmestres” (Mayors’ Day) held during the annual Schueberfouer took place yesterday, 23 August 2016, at the Glacis in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.
A total of 27 mayors from municipalities across the Grand Duchy served customers in different restaurants from 17:00 until 22:00. Their time and commitment is being paid by the fair and donated to charity.
The mayors first gathered at Restaurant-Brasserie Schuman outside the Grand Theatre where they dressed up with white aprons. Each apron had the municipality of each mayor written on it, to indicate who they were. The mayors then assembled at the restaurant Schwarzwald Christel at the Schueberfouer whereupon they split up and went to the respective restaurants assigned to them.
