Yesterday, Tuesday 23 August 2016, Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, was in Paris for discussions with the French President, Francois Hollande, on the future of the European Union following Britain's referendum on 23 June in which they voted to leave the European Union.
The meeting focused on addressing issues related to the future direction of the European Union, with both leaders agreeing that more emphasis is required on securing future investment, improving opportunities for young people and improving security across the EU.
The one-to-one meeting was held in advance of the September summit in Bratislava on the future of the EU following the Brexit vote.
