On Monday 22 August 2016 the Comité international des festivités de la Schueberfouer a.s.b.l. met at the Schwarzwald Christel restaurant at the Schueberfouer on the Glacis.
Roger Pelzer, president of Association européenne des commerçants-forains (AECF), stated that the fair had got off to a good start. He pointed out that they were expecting many visitors this week and the one following, as the weather forecast is promising great weather. “People are also to return from holidays,” Roger Pelzer added. The fair not only has visitors from Luxembourg, but from many of the countries surrounding the Grand Duchy.
During this press conference, concern regarding the works on the tram starting next year were raised. “The Schueberfouer will also be hosted on Glacis next year. This will not change because of the works on the tram in Luxembourg,” responded Patrick Goldschmidt, member of the collège échevinal de la Ville de Luxembourg.
The Comité international des festivités de la Schueberfouer a.s.b.l. was also happy to announce that prices had not gone up since the last edition of the Schueberfouer. They reminded visitors to look forward to this year’s “journée familiale” (family day) where there will be reduced prices on all the activities at the fair.
