natur&ëmwelt, Bee Together and SIAS are organising a Get Fit by Nature event in the Junglinster Orchard on Saturday 27 February 2016 from 10:00 - 15:00.
Let's get fit ... and what better way to get fit than by working for the benefit of nature and the environment? The event will focus on hedges, dry grasslands and orchards around Junglinster - the site is part of the LIFE Orchis project.
Meeting point: car park near the intersection of route de Luxembourg and rue de la Gare, which is also near the main bus station in Junglinster. At least 10 people are needed to help restore a dry grassland site. Families with children of 10 years or older are welcome. As there will be fires at the site, parents are asked to supervise their children. Dogs are also welcome though they will need to be supervised by their owners.
Help preserve one of the most diverse habitats in Luxembourg, with countless species of orchids, pollinators, and threatened bird species. Those participating will be organised based on language and what each person would like to do.
An explanation of the importance of the site, the dry grasslands project, and the site for flora and fauna will be given in the morning. Tools and food will be provided on site. If you would prefer a vegetarian food option, please let the organisers know.
What to wear:
· hiking boots or shoes with a good grip,
· old clothes that you do not mind getting smoky from the fire, and
· preferably clothes that are not polyester as the ash that rises in the air might still be alight and settle on your clothes.
What to bring:
· gloves, if you have them,
· at least 1 litre of drinking water and a hot drink, if you wish, and
· a change of clothes

When you register for the event (click here), you will receive an email from eventbrite asking you to print the ticket for the event. The organisers do not need a printed ticket; they do, however, need you to register for the event so that they know how many people are coming to organise equipment, tools and an appropriate amount of food.
