According to the latest study of the ING International Survey (IIS), 40% of Luxembourg residents state that they are either satisfied or very satisfied with the amount in their savings account, against 34% the year before.

At a European level, the score reaches 26% and thus ranks Luxembourg second behind the Netherlands (43%) and ahead of the United Kingdom (39%).

Additionally, the situation of Luxembourg residents has notably improved as a whole, the number of those surveyed who declared to be without savings has dropped from 21% last year to 14% this year. In contrast, the European score (38%) has remained the same as last year.

Furthermore, Luxembourg, as well as the United Kingdom, is one of the two surveyed countries where the percentage of residents whose savings have increased is highest (30%), compared to the European average of 19%.

This means that more than four out of ten people surveyed in the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg (over a quarter) stated that they have more than €50,000 in their savings accounts.
