The Luxembourg City authorities have announced that repair work on roads around the capital will see certain routes blocked off in the coming days.
Final repairs will be performed on Rue Notre-Dame in the Ville Haute (Upper Town), on the section between the street of the former Athénée and the intersection between Rue de l'Eau and Rue du Fossé. Milling work will be perfomed from 20:00 on Friday 12 to 06:00 on Saturday 13 February 2016, before final repairs are conducted from 20:00 on Saturday 13 to 06:00 on Sunday 14 February 2016.
This section of Rue Notre-Dame, as well as Rue du Fossé between Rue Notre-Dame and the Grand-Rue, will therefore be closed off to traffic, whilst parking in 'Knuedler' will remain possible.
Work on the finalising and dismantling of temporary facilities installed as part of the Pfaffenthal-Pescatore footbridge will see this part of the Côte d'Eich (N 53A) closed from 05:00 until 21:00 on Sunday 14 February 2016. Leaving the city, motorists will be redirected from Boulevard Royal vie Avenue de la Porte-Neuve, Avenue Victor Hugo and Rue des Glacis to reach the lower part of Côte d'Eich.
Equally, drivers heading into town by way of Limpertsberg will be able to follow the route from Place Dargent via the lower part of Cöte d'Eich, towards Rue des Glaics, Allée Scheffer and Avenue Pasteur before reaching Avenue de la Porte-Neuve. For all other destinations, a recommended direction established at Place Dargent will guide drivers from there to Rue de Muhlenbach and Rue de Rollingergrund.
Lines 10, 11 and 12 will be affected temporarily by the work at Côte d'Eich. For more information, visit www.vdl.lu.
UPDATE: Luxembourg City has announced that due to poor weather conditions, work on Rue Notre-Dame has been postponed. A new date for the work has not yet been chosen.
