To help motorists prepare for winter, the Automobile Club Luxembourg (ACL) will be offering free tyre and lights checks from 15 October to 13 November 2015.

Technicians from the ACL-Diagnostic Centre will not only check the profile of the tire, but will also inform the vehicle owner of the actual status, age and details of wear and tear of the tyres. Whilst the legal minimum tread depth of tires is 1,6mm, the ACL recommends not to go below 4mm. In addition, winter tyres are obligatory for winter weather conditions such as black ice, packed snow, slush, ice and frost. If everything conforms to the highway code, the motorist will receive a control certificate.

As in previous years, the ACL will be conducting these test at different times and locations around Luxembourg. These will be as follows:

  •  15 and 20 October 2015: Cactus Ingeldorf
  • 22 October 2015: Cactus Redange/Attert
  • 26 and 27 October 2015: Cactus Kayl
  • 29 October 2015: Cactus Echternach
  • 9 and 10 November 2015: Cactus Bascharage
  • 12 November 2015: Cactus Remich
  • 13 November 2015: Knauf Pommerloch

These tests will be available from 10:00 until 18:00. From 2 to 13 November 2015, the tests will be available at Bertrange from 08:30 to 18:00.
