On Friday afternoon, the two-week Lux Future Lab Summer School 2015 came to an end at the headquarters of the BGL BNP Paribas in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

To the background playing of the 2011 indie song "We are Young" - by American band Fun featuring Janelle Monáe, from their album "Some Nights" and which gained worldwide prominence when associated with the tv series Glee - the Closing Ceremony took place with the students and their families filling the 5th floor presentation room.

Karin Schintgen and Emmanuelle Humann of the Lux Future Lab introduced the event, with a group of students making a presentation of what they achieved each day, featuring a soundtrack and a slideshow of photographs, recounting the story of their two weeks which included a series of motivational speeches and presentations by a number of locals in business, entertainment and many other industries, as well as site visits to a

flying school, Luxembourg Air Rescue, Filmland film production studios, the Luxembourg Science Centre, the PwC Accelerator, the Scienteens Lab and Excellium Services. They even had to construct rafts to cross the lake at Echternach and other team-building activities. One day was spent creating apps in teams, another included writing CVs and another focused on becoming an antrepreneur.

The event also included an awards cereomony with a difference, with each student nominating and introducing another, which gave all participating students practice of public speaking, some in French and some in English.

The 4th year of the Summer School aimed at encouraging young people to innovate by being based on training and entrepreneurship to impact the social and economic dynamics in Luxembourg. The aim of the initiative is firstly to encourage young people to think "outside the box" by showing them the wide range of opportunities available to them, and also to guide them individually to help them find their way, and help them think about what is needed to create their own startups

The Summer School comprised 27 students of 10 different nationalities coming from 17 secondary schools from throughout the Grand Duchy, as well as some from other schools abroad.
