The Lux Future Lab Summer School 2015 has a truly international flavour with 27 students of 10 different nationalities coming from 17 secondary schools from throughout the Grand Duchy, as well as representatives from Dublin (Ireland), Reims (France) and Barbados
It started on Monday 13 July and runs until this Friday 24 July with a packed programme of activities. As in previous years, the Lux Future Lab has been very fortunate to be able to attract some 50 speakers to come and talk to the student, as well as arranging a number of external site visits, to a flying school, Filmland film production studios, the Luxembourg Science Centre, the PwC Accelerator, the Scienteens Lab and Excellium Services
This initiative, in its 4th successive year being supported by BGL BNP Paribas, is aimed at encouraging young people to innovate by being based on training and entrepreneurship to impact the social and economic dynamics in Luxembourg. It is ideal for students at the crossroads of his/her professional development and helps them to make choices regarding their studies, linking young people who want to establish an entrepreneurial project and professionals who have decided to change career and create their own startups.
For this project, the Lux Future Lab has created two platforms: an entrepreneurial platform (business incubator) and a continuous training platform. Under the latter, the idea was born to create a summer school dedicated to students.
The aim of the initiative is firstly to encourage young people to think "outside the box" by showing them the wide range of opportunities available to them, and also to guide them individually to help them find their way.
