From 1 July to 31 December 2015 the Luxembourg Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs has chosen BMW as the official vehicle provider for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union which will be held during this period.

From 1 July onwards, BMW will provide no less than eighty-nine vehicles for the transportation of Heads of State, ministers and delegates in Luxembourg.

Available cars will include BMW 7 Series, 5 Series and the new BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer which can carry up to seven people.

"It is an honour for us to be the provider to the Luxembourg Presidency. Our brand is very popular in the Grand Duchy where we record an increase in number of sales each year. It is in some way a public recognition of our efforts to satisfy our Luxembourgish clientele," said Jean-Philippe Parain, President & CEO of BMW Group Belux.

The vehicles delivered will include certain cars with high-security measures - a field in which BMW has also come to specialise. The entire range will have certain BMW systems available such as EfficientDynamics, which reduces carbon emissions and consumption, as well as ConnectedDrive which allows passengers to be permanently connected with the outside world and benefit from enhanced security.
