CFL has announced that as of today, 1 June, the Luxembourg-Saarbrücken-Express will operate two extra services – one in the early morning and one in the evening – between the Grand-Duchy and Saarland capitals.
06:15 and 20:10 services have been added, departing Luxembourg, arriving in Saarbrücken at 07:35 and 21:30 respectively.
In the other direction, from Saarbrücken central train station, 08:25 and 22:35 services will now operate, reaching the Luxembourg train station at 09:40 and 23:50 respectively.
With these additions, the number of daily services between the two destinations has increased from thirteen to fifteen, with the bus sizes increasing as well, to accommodate even more people.
Due to the beginning of the construction works on Boulevard Royal / Centre Hamilius in Luxembourg town centre, the Luxembourg-Saarbrücken-Express will no longer operate in the Kirchberg region, maintaining the Gare as its only departure and arrival point in Luxembourg.
Commuters needing to reach Kirchberg should use the alternative public transport lines (Number 1 or Eurobus lines) that operate frequently from the train station.
The Express is aimed at commuters – both students and workers – and the duration of the journey Is approximately one hour and twenty minutes. A single one-way ticket costs €9 and a daily return, €16. A monthly pass can be had for €135.
