The Centre des Arts Pluriels d’Ettelbruck (CAPé) has announced that it will be holding an exhibition on the 200 years of tobacco manufacturing in Luxembourg from 26 June to 5 July.
As one of the remaining unknown business to the general public, tobacco manufacturing in the Grand-Duchy, has its roots in Ettelbruck, with the foundation of the Fixmer house in 1815.
The exhibition, “200 Years of Tobacco in Luxembourg” will therefore serve to unearth the intricacies of the trade, through the display of various objects, iconic documents, which illustrate the rich history and tradition of the industry in the Grand-Duchy.
It will be open from Monday to Saturday from 12:00 to 20:00 and on Sundays from 10:00 to 18:00. Entrance is free.
On Sunday 28 June specifically, an open day will be held at the Ettelbruck factory. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the two-century-old expertise, which continues fuelling the industry today, first-hand. It will be open from 10:00 to 17:00 (last visits start at 16:00), and entrance is also free.
A free shuttle will operate from the Deich car park to and from both the factory and the CAPé.
