The Ville de Luxembourg, along with the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO), have announced this year’s artistic project, “My Urban Piano Luxembourg”, which will feature fifteen pianos placed in public places all over the Grand-Duchy’s capital from 6 to 21 June.
This will follow the success of last year’s project, and will have pianos located on streets, tourist spots, residential neighbourhoods and parks. Each piano will be decorated and embellished by partners from the business, artistic and educational worlds.
The pianos will be available for amateurs and experienced musicians alike to spontaneously improvise their own mini-concerts and rock the capital with their sound for the two-week period.
My Urban Piano is an annual interactive initiative, which encourages participation from the general public, and it follows similar projects undertaken in other cities worldwide.
For those who film and upload a video of any entertainment or mini-concert played around one of the designated pianos, with the keyword “luxembourgcity” will be eligible to win an iPad. ‘To partake in the draw, a link to the video, with the cameraperson’s name, address and phone number, must be sent to concours@vdl.lu.
