The Ville de Luxembourg has announced that the traditional Marché de l’Octave will be held on the Place Guillaume II and Place de la Constitution (Golden Lady) between Saturday 25 April and Sunday 10 May in the Grand-Duchy’s capital.
As a result, there will be no parking allowed at the Place de la Constitution from today at 19:00, all the way until the evening of Wednesday 13 May. However, two bus stops designated for tourist buses, will remain in operation throughout the duration of the market.
Furthermore, the bi-weekly market will be held simultaneously with the Marché de l’Octave and will continue taking place on the Place Guillaume II every Wednesday and Saturday, shifting slightly towards the Grand-Ducal Palace.
The market, which has its origins and takes its name from Luxembourg’s most important religious festival, takes place every year around Pentecost and sees over 90,000 residents of the Grand-Duchy and visitors of the Greater Region, travel to the city to honour the Virgin Mary, patron saint of both capital and country.
