In a test phase, the maximum speed limit on the A6 and the A1 between the Belgian-Luxembourg border and Kirchberg will be limited to 90 km/h from next week.
In order to optimise the flow of traffic on the critical sections of the motorway network during the morning rush hours, the maximum authorised speed on the A6 and A1 motorways will be limited to 90 km/h from the Belgian-Luxembourg border (Sterpenich) to the Kirchberg interchange, from Monday 3 June 2019.
The speed regulation scenario will run from Monday to Friday around 06:15 until 09:15, outside school holidays and public holidays and with the exception of sections which are affected by incidents or accidents and require additional traffic management measures. The test phase will run until Friday 12 July 2019.
The morning speed limit, which will be applied over a total distance of 28 kilometres, will be indicated by the CITA road signs. The police will regulate these speed regulation measures.
