On Thursday 4 June 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two driving licenses were recently confiscated following drink-driving offences in Bettembourg and near Schengen.
According to the police, at around 17:50 on Wednesday 3 June, a vehicle was reported on Rue de Noertzange in Bettembourg driving in an erratic manner. A police patrol was able to locate the driver shortly afterwards. He was immediately subjected to a breath alcohol test, which returned a positive result, and his driving licence was confiscated.
At around 04:15 on Thursday 4 June, a police patrol on the A13 towards Schengen became aware of a vehicle being driven erratically while travelling at excessive speed. The driver was stopped and subjected to a breath alcohol test which returned a positive result. His driving licence was confiscated.
