On Saturday 30 May 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported on a number of arrests made on Friday 29 May in Esch-sur-Alzette and Luxembourg City for offences including theft and failure to observe an exclusion order.
According to the initial information, at around 15:30 on the afternoon of Friday 29 May police were informed that a person was present at a residential address in Esch/Alzette despite being subject to an exclusion order. Before police officers arrived, the man left the location. However, during a short search operation, the individual was located. The man was found to be heavily under the influence of alcohol. At the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the individual was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Saturday 30 May.
At around midday on Friday 29 May, police were dispatched to Rue de Strasbourg in Luxembourg-Gare following a disturbance. On arrival, officers encountered two men holding a third man on the ground. Initial information indicated that the individual was a suspected offender who had allegedly committed a theft shortly beforehand in a sports goods shop in the station district and had subsequently fled. The suspected offender was uncooperative towards the officers and, following a medical check, the Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the man’s arrest. On the morning of Saturday 30 May, the arrested individual was brought before an investigating judge.
At around 14:30 on the afternoon of Friday 29 May, police were informed of a suspected theft at a pharmacy in Luxembourg-Gare. In addition, the security officer of an adjacent shop contacted the officers and stated that the suspected offender had previously attracted attention in his premises shortly beforehand due to similar behaviour. The suspected offender was detained by the security officer until the police arrived and was subsequently handed over to the officers. The individual was taken to the police station for further processing. The Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the seizure of the allegedly stolen items as well as the drafting of an official report.
