The Grand Ducal Police has reported several incidents involving fights, disturbances and an arrest between the evening of Wednesday 27 and the early hours of Thursday 28 May 2026.
On Wednesday afternoon in Grand-Rue in Luxembourg-Ville, where, during an identity check, police officers discovered that a man was subject to a European arrest warrant. Following instructions from the public prosecutor’s office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
Later that evening, a fight was reported on a bus in the Neudorf area of Esch-sur-Alzette. Police officers attended the scene and found one of the individuals involved, who received first aid before being taken to hospital for further treatment. According to initial information, an altercation had broken out between several intoxicated individuals. During a search operation, officers located two additional people suspected of involvement in the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
Another fight involving several men was later reported near Place am Boltgen, also in Esch-sur-Alzette, with one person allegedly carrying a saw. Several police patrols attended the scene and located the man in possession of the saw. The object was confiscated and a report was filed.
Shortly after midnight on Thursday, police were called to reports of a dispute involving several people outside a venue in Rue Joseph Junck in Luxembourg’s Gare district. Reportedly, one of the men involved was repeatedly walking onto the road. Police officers found the heavily intoxicated man at the scene and, due to the danger he posed to himself and others, placed him under arrest following a medical examination.
