Flying can bring many of us to a very uncomfortable juncture between need and nerves from where the assurances of friends and family that it’s safer than driving by car do little to shift us forward into a more comfortable space. In some cases, fear of flying can bookmark a pleasurable occasion like a holiday with two deeply miserable experiences, even making people reluctant to travel at all.
Aware of this, Luxair has been helping passengers with seminars on how to relax while flying for the last 25 years conducted by a team of professionals who apply themselves to this field, including a psychologist, pilot and cabin crew.
The seminars are held over two days, in small groups to help foster a relaxed, pressure-free atmosphere, and sessions include technical explanations about operating an aircraft and weather conditions, as well as a tour in the cockpit, so that participants can familiarise themselves with take-off and landing procedures, which may help allay some concerns.
Luxair say that these seminars have shown a 94% satisfaction rate in helping their passengers overcome their fear of flying.
The next dates for the seminars are as follows:
- 29 - 30 April 2017 (in English and Luxembourgish)
- 20 - 21 May 2017 (in German and Luxembourgish)
- 17 - 18 June 2017 (in French and Luxembourgish)
To register or for more information, contact Luxair Luxembourg Airlines by e-mail: aviophobie@luxair.lu.
The seminar costs €650 per person, which includes registration, two lunches, drinks, materials, a certificate, and a return flight from Luxembourg to a Luxair destination.
