On Monday 24 August 2026, the Fédération Nationale des Commerçants Forains (FNCF) held its traditional post-opening weekend press conference at the Schueberfouer in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.

The press conference, held at Restaurant Schla’Winer on the Champ du Glacis, reviewed the first three days of this year's fair following its official opening on Friday 21 August 2026. According to the organisers, the Schueberfouer recorded a positive first weekend, with strong attendance despite periods of rain.

Among the topics discussed was pricing at this year's fair, particularly in light of higher operating costs faced by fairground businesses. Prices for many attractions and food products have reportedly remained at last year's levels despite increases in costs such as wages and ingredients, including chocolate and potatoes.

Speaking with Chronicle.lu following the press conference, Luxembourg City alderman Patrick Goldschmidt said: "They had a good first weekend. [...] Even if it was raining, there were a lot of people here."

Addressing prices, he added: "In my view, the prices did not increase. We have a lot of places where you go, you have exactly the same price as last year."

He noted that this was also the case for parts of the food sector despite increased purchase costs, adding that wages and other expenses had risen. Comparing the Schueberfouer with fairs abroad, Patrick Goldschmidt described the prices in Luxembourg as "fairly balanced".
