The newly-inaugurated Writers Who Talk asbl (WWT) has announced that it is hosting an ambitious online launch party at the end of this month.
The non-stop all-day Zoom event takes place from 10:00 - 18:00 on Saturday 30 January 2021, and features a host of readings, workshops and Q&A sessions from established authors with the aim of attracting English-language writers to a strong new platform of creative innovation, collaboration and mutual support.
The roots of WWT were planted in 2016 by local journalist Jess Bauldry who, at the time, was keen to learn and grow as a creative writer. The first meet-ups rapidly revealed a rich seam of Anglophone wordsmiths in Luxembourg and, nearly five years later, this group of talented individuals has forged an impressive network that has resulted in a plethora of rewarding workshops, boot-camps and artistic alliances and provided support for writers across all genres and at all stages of development.
“COVID-19, while devastating, has led many people to discover or hone their creative writing skills,” said Jess Bauldry. “With the advent of Zoom and, for some, more free time without the daily commute to work, local creativity has soared”.
Among the guests will be writers Robert Schofield, Wendy Winn, Erik Abbott, Olivia Katrandjian, Susan Alexander and Andrea Murphy. The director of Luxembourg’s national archive and centre for literary studies and co-founder of Black Fountain Press, Nathalie Jacoby, will end the day with a Q&A.
The event is hosted on Zoom at:
