On Wednesday 11 June 2025, Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable groups, reported on a meeting between its editorial team and Eric Wolfer, who presented his autobiographical book “La Wolf” (The Wolf).
During the meeting with Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, Eric Wolfer shared his motivation: “I want my book to be useful, to leave a mark, to be an inspiration - even if only for a single person…”
Released on 7 April 2025, La Wolf, which has sold over 800 copies in France and Belgium, tells what is described as the “moving story” of Eric Wolfer, a Congolese-born adopted child who entered a juvenile detention centre at the age of fifteen following a judge’s decision, and who “fought his inner demons through sport.”
According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, Eric Wolfer has never forgotten where he came from: Longuyon, located in France’s Meurthe-et-Moselle department 54. He also played volleyball in Luxembourg, with a season in Mamer (1985–1986) and later in Pétange (2001–2003).
