
Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has announced the appointment of Andrée Wietor as Deputy Director of the Centre National de Littérature (CNL - National Literature Centre).
The ministry reported that, at its meeting on Friday 16 May 2025, the Government Council (Cabinet) decided to propose to the Grand Duke the appointment of Andrée Wietor as Deputy Director of the CNL.
Andrée Wietor, born on 19 January 1985, holds degrees in European studies, philosophy and German literature. She studied at Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, the College of Europe in Bruges and the University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas. During her career, she has held positions in the fields of communication and public relations, as well as in migration and asylum. Since 2021, she has served as European Liaison Officer for Migration at the Delegation of the European Union in Beirut, Lebanon. Andrée Wietor has also pursued certification in cultural management and has been personally involved in the cultural sector for many years. She will take up her new role as Deputy Director of the CNL on 1 September 2025.
The CNL, located in Mersch, is tasked with collecting materials related to Luxembourgish literature since 1815. According to the Ministry of Culture, as a public scientific literary institute, the CNL “provides access to documentation on literature in the Grand Duchy, fulfils the mission of preserving, studying and promoting this multilingual literary heritage, and offers a broad programme of events and sociocultural activities centred on literature, books and writing.”
