The Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) today announced that the postponed concert of Bernard Allison, originally scheduled for 30 May 2015, is now back on track and will instead take place on Wednesday 30 September 2015 at Den Atelier.
The blues musician was originally going to perform as part of the 33rd LCTO Printemps Musical Festival 2015, a programme of jazz and blues world music performed at Den Atelier, the Philharmonie and Neimënster between 4 March and 27 May 2015.
Bernard Allison was born in Illinois, USA to Chicago blues legend Luther Allison, who took him to blues festivals in the 1970s and introduced him to reputed names of the genre such as Muddy Waters, Hound Dog Taylor and Albert King.
Bernard Allison showed an aptitude for the 'Allison Way of Blues' from an early age, joining the Koko Taylor touring band immediately after graduating high school. Allison has since hypnotised audiences with his blues creations, offering soul and rock guitar riffs borne of blends of slide guitar play, an energetic voice and beautiful compositions.
In Luxembourg, Allison will be performing 'In the Mix', his first studio album following a six-year hiatus and thirteenth overall. The musician stated he was satisfied with the new ten-track disc, explaining: "I wanted to record an album throughout which the guitar would have a truly prominent role. But I think I managed to find the right balance, with some touched of Memphis Soul vintage and the Jimi Hendrix period of Band of Gypsy."
The Bernard Allison Group will be supported by Luxembourgish blues band The Kid Colling Cartel. Tickets cost €15 plus a pre-sale fee and can be purchase at www.atelier.lu , www.ticket-regional.de and www.luxembourgticket.lu
