The latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings released today show Luxembourg are in 145th position out of 208 ranked teams, with 187 points, up one position.
Luxembourg's best-ever position in the world rankings was 93rd in April 1996. In 1964, Luxembourg reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA EURO tournament. In recent years, two results stand out: the 1-0 victory over Belarus in qualifying for EURO 2008 and the 2-1 win over Switzerland in the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ qualification campaign. They also defeated Slovakia 2-1 in February 2011 and drew 0-0 with Algeria, ranked 55th in the world, in November 2010.
Argentina remain in top spot (1,473 points), with Belgium leapfrogging Germany into 2nd place. Colombia and Brazil complete the top 5.
