Luxembourg Women Set for October Football Friendlies Against Malta, Montenegro

On Monday 7 September 2026, the Luxembourg Football Federation (FLF) announced that Luxembourg’s women’s national team (Red Lionesses) will play two international friendly matches against Malta and Montenegro in October 2026.

The first match will take place on Friday 9 October at 19:00 against Malta at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali. Four days later, on Tuesday 13 October at 19:00, the Red Lionessesn will face Montenegro at the Stade Municipal de Rumelange.

According to the FLF, admission will be free for the home match against Montenegro in Rumelange.

Luxembourg last faced Malta in a friendly match in February 2023, when Malta recorded a 3-1 victory. Luxembourg’s most recent meeting with Montenegro dates back to FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying in April 2017, when Montenegro won 7-1.
