Luxembourgish striker Aurélien Joachim has signed a one-year contract with League One side Burton Albion.
The 28-year-old began his career in Belgian youth teams Virton and Mouscron, before making his debut in the Luxembourg National Division in the 2007/2008 season. In May of 2011, he was transferred to F91 Dudelange, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in the Champions League of Dudelange with famous goal scores against teams such as Red Bull Salzburg and San Marino's SP Tre Penne.
Joachim scored five goals in 20 appearances for most recent team, Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia, and has scored seven times for his country. Joachim was named Luxembourgish Footballer of the Year in 2012, and has now signed a one-year contract with Burton Albion FC with the possibility of a one-year extension.
Manager of Burton Albion, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, was reported as saying: [Joachim] will bring goals, hopefully. He's got real experience. We expect him to lead the front line when he plays and challenge our strikers for a place".
The footballer is expected to play at least part of Brewers' first match in the 2015/16 league campaign against Scunthorpe United this Saturday, 8 August 2015.
