Guy Daleiden, Director of the Film Fund Luxembourg, has been re-elected to the board of directors of the European Film Agency Directors (EFAD).

EFAD members met for their virtual general assembly on 21 September 2020 to elect a new Board of Directors. Among the eleven board members, Guy Daleiden, who was vice-president of the group between 2014 and 2018, was re-elected for a three-year term.

EFAD is the voice of the national institutions of European cinema, bringing together the directors of the national cinema and audiovisual production funds of the countries of the European Union, as well as those of Iceland, Norway, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The group discussed the situation in each country in terms of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the audiovisual production industry. National funds for cinema and audiovisual production across Europe have been fully mobilised to take all necessary measures to mitigate the negative consequences for all those working in the sector. The funds continue to be committed to support the sector in its recovery by facilitating the resumption of filming, bringing European audiences back to reopened cinemas and finding additional resources to continue to build their support.

A discussion on the transposition of the EU's Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) concluded the meeting.
