The Grand Duchy will be represented at the Marché du Film of the 69th edition of the Cannes Film Festival from 12 to 14 May 2016 with a visit from Luxembourg Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel.

Film Fund Luxembourg will be honoured for the 14th time with its pavilion at the Village international where it will host 19 entities.

On the agenda of Xavier Bettel, who is also Minister of Culture and Minister of Communications and Media for Luxembourg, will be a visit to the Marché du Film, a meeting with film professionals to discuss the monitoring of film funding and current topics in the industry, and participation in a traditional Luxembourg reception.

The PM's visit will start on Thursday at the NEXT pavillion, a platform for innovative entrepreneurs from the Marché du Film which has selected two Luxembourg virtual reality projects: "Fan Club" directed by Vincent Ravalec and prouced by a_BAHN and "Next", directed by Olivier Pesch and prodcued by Samsa Film.

The feature film animation "FUNAN, le peuple nouveau" directed by Denis Do and co-produced and distributed by David Grumbach (Juliette Films/Bac Films) will be presented as a "work in progress" as part of the "Goes to Cannes" device, in partnership with the Marché du film d'animation d'Annecy.

Film Fund Luxembourg also supported the LARS and actors.lu with a grant to directors Olivier Pesch and Milli Schlesser and actor Hervé Sogne to grant them access to the Marché du Film.
