On Saturday 29 August 2026, the Grand Ducal Police carried out an alcohol check in northern Luxembourg, reporting several road traffic offences.

Undertaken between 00:30 and 04:30, police checked motorists on the N27A near Friedhof, at the level of ZANO, in the northbound direction. The operation was carried out at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

According to the police, a total of 295 motorists underwent preliminary breath tests, from which fifteen tested positive for alcohol, resulting in nine reports and six fines.

Six driving licences were confiscated on the spot, including one after a driver refused to take the test. In another case, an intoxicated driver was also found to be under the influence of drugs and driving without a valid licence.

Police also recorded twelve other road traffic offences. In addition, police issued two reports for driving without valid insurance and two after passengers were found in possession of drugs.
