On Thursday evening, the 6th annual Luxembourg City Film Festival 2016 kicked off at Utopolis-Kirchberg with the screening of Demolition, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts.

Beforehand, Colette Flesch, President of the organising committee, and Guy Arendt, Secretary of State for Culture, delivered the official speeches, with Gladys Lazareff, Head of Coordination, and Alexis Juncosa, Artistic Director, providing information about the programming and introducing the juries.

The festival includes screenings at various locations including the Cinémathèque, Ciné Utopia and Utopolis Kirchberg, including a children's programme, as well as other events in different locations, including the Rotondes in Lxembourg-Bonnevoie. The festival headquarters are located in the Magic Mirrors pavillion on the Place de la Constitution.
