Luxembourg’s Ministry of Consumer Protection has just published the myImpact.lu site, which aims to allow citizens to calculate their personal carbon footprint by answering a few simple questions about their lifestyle relating to lifestyle and housing, transport, food and consumption habits.

With this online tool, the ministry aims to raise awareness of environmental issues and encourage citizens to adopt a more responsible mode of consumption. One of the interesting aspects of this online tool is also the possibility of comparing one's personal carbon footprint to the Luxembourg average, as well as to Luxembourg's environmental objectives for 2050. This will allow users to better understand their impact and take action to reduce their carbon footprint.

Note that the project was carried out with the scientific expertise of the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and the technical support of the State Information Technology Center (CTIE).

The Luxembourg Minister of Consumer Protection, Paulette Lenert, said: “I am delighted with the launch of the myimpact.lu site which marks a significant step in raising awareness among Luxembourg citizens of the impact of their consumption behaviour on our planet. It highlights the impact of each consumption choice, thus encouraging our fellow citizens to make informed decisions in favour of more responsible consumption.
