On Friday 3 July 2026, Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss, which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable individuals, reported it received a €5,000 donation from Kiwanis Club Alstad.

According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, the money was raised during a quiz night organised by the Kiwanis Club Alstad on 18 April 2026. The quiz night brought together around 24 teams of six players at the "Op der Héicht" community hall, where a meal was prepared for the occasion by Kiwanis Club members. In total, 144 people contributed to the €5,000 donation for the association

Stëmm vun der Strooss said this act of solidarity will specifically support the Kanner Stëmm service. Established in 2021 to expand support services for children, Kanner Stëmm offers psychosocial support to struggling families based on the principles of positive parenting. To combat child abuse and address suspected domestic violence, children and their parents receive support from a small team of four social workers. Last year, 40 families turned to Kanner Stëmm for help, meaning a total of 93 children received tailored support.

The association said it regarded the donation as “crucial”, enabling the service to expand, resulting in more help for more children.

The official presentation of the donation took place on Monday 29 June, at the Hotel Parc Alvisse in Dommeldange, where Kiwanis Club Alstad President Béatrice Peters handed the check to Alexandra Oxacelay, who said: “This generous donation gives us the means to continue guiding many families toward a brighter future. Children are often the most overlooked victims of extreme poverty, yet they suffer the most from it; it is important to show that civil society is committed to their cause.”
