The Kin Khao restaurant is opening a new Thai Restaurant and Cocktail Bar in Luxembourg-ville; yesterday it opened for an after-work cocktail and today, Thursday 23 September 2021, it will have its Grand Opening (by invitation only), with the public opening at the week-end.
The Concept Partners group, which has operated a number of bars-cum-restaurants at the same location (32 Rue de la Poste at Luxembourg-Hamilius) for a number of years with varying levels of success, has devised on a formula of mixing a Thai restaurant concept (which they have operated successfully in Kinepolis-Kirchberg since 2017) with a new Cocktail Bar concept.
Kin Khao City is located the Post Office at Hamilius, close to Delhaize, Decathlon and the LuxTram stop, and is a stone's throw from Place d'Armes.
The establishment is divided into a terrace (85 seats), bar (30 seats) and 1st floor restaurant (75 seats).
Its cocktail concept was created by head mixologist Nikos who is originally from Greece, with the head chef Wachira Chaipinidnorrachar (Yo) and all kitchen staff hailing from Thailand to ensure authentic Thai finger food and main dishes, offering an immersion into Thai culture and gastronomy.
The restaurant offers many of the classical Thai dishes such as Pad Thai which are also available in its Kirchberg restaurant; however, many new creations have been added to Kin Khao City's menu such as new vegetarian and more elaborated dishes, as well as a finger food menu. The menu reflects flavours from all of Thailand, from north to south and from east to west with dishes for all tastes, including vegetarians, steamed or fried.
The cocktail menu includes a variety of classic and original cocktails (e.g."Au Revoir M. and Mme. Habilis" stands out for its unique taste and presentation, and ingredients include forest mushrooms, bourbon, mint, anise, lime and grapefruit).
The interior of the restaurant has been decorated in authentic Thai style. The upper part of the restaurant offers a view of the open kitchen, and gives the impression of being seated at the chef's table. Diners can see Chef Yo and his team prepare their meals right in front of them.
