On Thursday 19 March 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two people were arrested following a police pursuit during which the fleeing vehicle collided with two police vehicles.
According to the initial information, on the evening of Tuesday 17 March 2026, a police pursuit took place on the CR166 between Schifflange and Kayl involving a police patrol and a suspicious driver heading towards Tétange.
During the pursuit, the fleeing vehicle collided with, among other things, two police vehicles and nearly caused several traffic accidents. Following the final collision with a police vehicle, the suspect vehicle came to a stop, after which the two occupants fled on foot. Officers managed to apprehend both individuals shortly afterwards near a petrol station.
During the chase, the suspects threw a black bag from the vehicle. The bag and the drugs contained within it were recovered. A further quantity of drugs, as well as a cutter, was found during a search of the vehicle. The drugs and the vehicle were seized.
One officer sustained minor injuries during the incident.
On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, both men were arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Wednesday 18 March 2026, where the judge issued arrest warrants for both men.
