Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works has announced that, from 15 May 2021, the Grand Duchy is holding the 13th edition of the annual "Mam Vëlo op d'Schaff oder an d´Schoul" action, which runs until 31 July.

Whether it is the desire for a new challenge, the desire to boost your health, reduce stress, be more independent, or even reduce greenhouse gas emissions, there are many reasons to cycle to work between 15 May and 31 July 2021.

This awareness-raising action emphasises participation rather than performance and aims to reduce individual car use in favour of the bicycle and multimodal options. During the action, it is therefore possible to combine different modes of transport to cover the route and to complete only part of the route by bicycle.

Participation is simple: form a team of two to four people, register on www.mvos.lu and ride bivycles for at least 15 days to get to work or school during the challenge period. The last deadline for registration is 15 July 2021.

Participants can thus try to win not only personal success, but also one of the fabulous prizes with a total value of over €16,000. Each qualified team will have the chance to win one of the prizes involved, in particular as the two first prizes are vouchers worth €2,500 offered by Andy Schleck Cycles, or a cycling trip across the Grand Duchy for four people with three overnight stays worth a total of €2,000, accompanied by a voucher worth €50 per person, offered by Velosophie.

Finally, each participant is invited to share their photos and action-related performances on social media, tagging them with the hashtag #mvos2021.
