After being exposed for six months at the headquarters of the Council of the European Union in Brussels, the curiosity display ('cabinet de curiosités') has been installed in the lobby of the Ministry of Culture.
Under the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the EU, the cabinet had been displayed at the Justus Lipsius building of the Council in the Belgian capital. The exhibition aimed to draw attention to lesser-known facets of Luxembourg, the country's historical and current figures, as well as unusual objects that evoke the culture, history, inventions, tastes and pastimes of the Grand Duchy within its European context.
Items included 45 short stories, from Ketty Thull to Buff; madeleines from Léa Linster; Villeroy & Boch porcelain; the history of Radio Luxembourg and the bent nails of Luxembourgish strongman Georges Christen.
The Luxembourg public will now be able to discover the cabinet from 3 to 18 March 2016 at the Ministry of Culture, 4 Boulevard Roosevelt in Luxembourg. The exhibition will be open Monday to Friday 10.00-18:00 and Wednesdays until 20:00.
