Luxembourgish architect Francois Valentiny today announced that through his VALENTINY foundation he will be offering an award programme to young architects who graduated less than two years ago or who are currently studying in the field of architecture, art or design.
The VALENTINY Foundation is the 2014 initiative of architect Francois Valentiny whose construction portfolio includes the Brazil's Teatro l'Occitane, the 'Haus Für Mozart' in Salzburg, Austria and the KPMG building here in Luxembourg, also known as 'The Apple Strüdel'. Valentiny is now hoping to spot, encourage and develop the architectural talents of young, creative minds through the launch of a new awards programme.
The winner of First Prize will receive €3,000, whilst ten finalists will receive signed bronze lithographs from the architect himself. The winner will be decided by a jury panel consisting of Luxembourgish and international artists and architects, as well as members of the VALENTINY Foundation's Executive Board of Directors. The latter will provide business expertise from people such as Robert Denneweld, Chairman of FEDIL -Business Federation Luxembourg and Vice-President of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
The deadline for applications to the award programme is 31 August 2015.
