Some 200 finance professionals and private bankers gathered today at the Hotel Le Royal for the 2019 edition of the Private Banker event.

During this intense half-day conference, organised by Farvest, key professionals from the sector shared their knowledge and discussed the latest trends of the industry.

Najat Skeate, President of the Luxembourg Association Wealth Managers (LAWM), officially opened this edition of Private Banker and introduced this year's topic: "From Private Banks to Wealth Management Firms: Beyond Investments".

Erika Bourguet, Director of Strategy Regulatory and Corporate Finance at Deloitte, and Pascal Martino, Partner and Banking Leader and Digital co-Leader at Deloitte, then took the stage to give their keynote speech "Rethink the value proposition". Speeches followed on new technology and its impact on private banking from Roger Hartmann (Group Strategy Leader at Fuchs & Associés Finance) and Jonathan Prince (Co-Founder of Finologee).

The event proceeded with a round table discussion between Hans-Peter Borgh (Head of Wealth and Investment Management and Member of the Management Board at BIL), Luca Tomasi (Group Head of Private banking at Banque Havilland), Alexandre Cegarra (CEO of Société Générale Private Wealth Management) and Linda Wade (CEO and co-founder of Spinview). The discussion, moderated by Luxembourg Times Editor-in-Chief Douwe Miedema, highlighted topics such as virtual reality and Brexit, among other things.

Julien Hugo (Country Manager at Prodware Luxembourg) and Ty Murphy (Family Office Magazine) concluded the event with speeches on customer experience and art transaction diligence, respectively.
