The International School of Luxembourg (ISL) has announced a new partnership with the Chamber Orchestra of Luxembourg (Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg - OCL), solidifying the ISL as the official residency of the musical ensemble.
As reported by the school, this collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing educational and cultural opportunities for the ISL community.
"We see this residency as an opportunity to offer a new form of fulfilment, strengthen social ties and build the audience of tomorrow," said Sylvie Charmoy, Director of the OCL.
The collaboration will offer a range of projects and learning experiences. Highlights of the partnership include:
- interactive rehearsals: students will have the opportunity to attend the OCL's rehearsals, providing them with first-hand insights into the artistic process and the dedication required to create exceptional music;
- concert attendance: ISL students will enjoy access to the OCL's concerts, enabling them to appreciate the beauty of live classical performances and fostering a deeper appreciation for music;
- masterclasses: the OCL's accomplished musicians will conduct masterclasses, allowing ISL students to refine their musical skills under the guidance of professionals;
- practice and performance: ISL students will have the opportunity to practice and perform alongside the OCL, bridging the gap between student musicians and seasoned professionals;
- composition showcase: as a testament to the collaboration's creative synergy, the OCL will perform student-composed compositions throughout the school year celebrating student talents.
In addition, ISL film students will embark on a documentary project to capture the essence of this collaboration. The documentary will provide an inside look at what it means to have a professional orchestra in residency at the school, highlighting the artistic and educational value it brings to the community.
The launch of this partnership is marked by the performance of several student-composed string quartets.
