On Thursday 12 March 2026, Luxembourg insurance company Foyer SA announced a partnership with Luxembourg sprinter Patrizia Van der Weken, the national record holder in the 60m, 100m and 200m, who has also won Luxembourg’s first medals at the World and European Athletics Indoor Championships.

The partnership comes at the start of a new Olympic cycle leading up to the 2028 Olympic Games. “Elite performance relies on far more than talent alone. It is built on constant commitment, rigorous discipline and a strong support environment. In this spirit, Foyer has chosen to support Patrizia Van der Weken as she enters the next decisive stages of her sporting career,” the company stated.

In recent years, Patrizia Van der Weken has established herself among Europe’s leading sprinters. Her achievements include bronze medals at the European and World Athletics Indoor Championships, victory at the Paris Diamond League meeting and the title of World Athletics Indoor Tour Champion in 2025. She also became the first Luxembourg athlete to reach the semi-finals of the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 and was later selected as the country’s flag bearer for the closing ceremony.

She was also named Luxembourg’s Sportswoman of the Year for the third consecutive year and is now focusing her preparation on the 2028 Olympic Games, the company added.

“I am deeply grateful to be able to count on a strong and committed partner by my side on the road to the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028,” stated Patrizia Van der Weken.

With her dedication, discipline and ability to push beyond limits, Patrizia Van der Weken embodies commitment and performance. She proudly reflects the values of perseverance, excellence and ambition that help Luxembourg shine on the international stage. As the country’s leading insurer, we are particularly proud to partner with an athlete who shares these values,” added Sophie Haas, Head of Marketing and Communications at Foyer Assurances.
