The Grand Ducal Police have announced that a 31-year-old man was fatally injured on Wednesday 24 July 2024, during maintenance work at the blast furnaces in Esch-Belval.
Late on Wednesday afternoon, a serious industrial accident occurred in Esch-Belval in which a worker died as a result of severe injuries suffered during maintenance work on the furnaces. Emergency services present at the scene could only confirm the death of the 31-year-old man from the south of the country.
The Inspectorate of Labour and Mines and a police forensics team were dispatched to the site to determine the cause of the accident.
