Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works has announced the closure to the public of the Three Acorns (Trois Glands / Dräi Eechelen) site from this evening and until further notice.

Over the past weeks, the Public Building Administration has noted several private parties taking place on the Three Acorns site in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. Participants at these parties were found to not respect the sanitary rules put in place to combat coronavirus. Littering has also been a problem, with up to 700 kg of waste per day having to be removed from the site.

The Grand Ducal Police also had to intervene many times in order to reduce the risk of an accident among inebriated individuals, especially given the proximity of the ramparts.

For all these reasons and as a security measure, the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works has decided to close to the public the state-owned Three Acorns site from the evening of Friday 17 July 2020 and until further notice. The Mudam and the fortress museum (Musée Dräi Eechelen) will remain open to the public.

Police will carry out regular checks on site.
