From Saturday 8 to Sunday 9 August 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that five motorists tested positive for alcohol during checks carried out in Remich and Bous.
According to the police, the first checks took place on Route de Stadtbredimus in Remich between 23:00 and midnight, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
Police carried out breath tests on 112 motorists, including drivers who showed no serious indication of alcohol consumption. One motorist tested positive, prompting police to issue an official report and confiscate the driver's licence on the spot.
Police also recorded several other offences, including one vehicle without a valid tax disc, one without a valid technical inspection certificate, one failure to present a valid driving licence and two seat belt violations.
Officers carried out further alcohol checks on Rue de Stadtbredimus in Bous between 01:30 and 02:30 on Sunday, testing 96 motorists. Four tested positive, although police did not confiscate any driving licences on the spot.
Officers also recorded one vehicle without a valid tax disc, two without valid technical inspection certificates and one failure to present a valid driving licence.
