The Sandweiler exit of the A1 motorway was left covered in debris following a collision between a caravan and a lorry at around 13:25 this afternoon.
According to reports from the Grand Ducal Police, a caravan was parked on the hard shoulder of the motorway when it was hit by a truck, with the caravan being obliterated in the collision. The exact cause of the accident appears to remain unknown, but the lorry driver sustained minor injuries from the impact. The occupants of the car towing the caravan had been standing the other side of the safety barrier at the time of the collision.
There was a significant traffic tailback as a result of the accident, as debris was collected and the trailer towed.
