Hot, dry air blowing from the East could see Luxembourg's ozone levels today surpass the European threshold for the second time in a week.

Maximum temperatures for Thursday 13 August 2015 are expected at between 30° and 33° C with moderate cloud cover until the evening. Due to a weak wind accompanying the heat, ozone concentrations in the atmosphere could reach dangerous levels, with the potential to surpass the European threshld of 180 μg/m3. However, a storm forecasted for Thursday evening could see the air mass abate and the ozone concentrations alleviate.

Friday 14 and Saturday 15 will provide a certain respite from the heat wave, with a fuller cloud cover following Thursday's expected storm. However, temperatures will still be around 25°C on Friday and 21°C on Saturday. Ozone concentrations will retreat to medium levels, expected to stand between 80 and 120 μg/m3.
