Two passers-by contacted the Grand Ducal Police on Wednesday evening to report two dogs being locked inside a parked car for two hours.

The car was parked on Rue de l'Ecole; no windows were open to allow ventialtion. When the police arrived they observed that the two dogs were panting heavily and that there was no water available in the vehicle. A quick call to the public prosecutor provided the authorisation for them to break a window in the vehicle so they could remove the dogs from the obvious danger of being inside a parked par without ventilation and with outside temperatures in the high 20Cs.

The dogs were provided with drinking water immediately after being rescued and were subsequently brought to the police station. Four hours later the owner of the vehicle contacted the police. She had been at a nearby restaurant...
