Recent concerns voiced by emergency services volunteers online has led the Ministry of the Interior to today state that mileage allowance for these services will not change.
Concerns began to grow following the adoption of a draft law unifying the various emergency services of Luxembourg under the 'Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Body' (CGDIS). Members of implicated volunteer emergency services became worried that under the new cooperation they would not receive the same mileage allowance as before.
However, the Ministry has claimed that a decision was taken on 31 July 2015 - the same day as the draft law was passed by the Governing Council - that mileage allowance would remain at 40 cents for volunteer emergency services, as stated by Minister of the Interior Dan Kersch.
