In a strange turn of events, burglars who stole items from a family residence in Insenborn left in their wake a letter apologising for their actions.
At an unknown time between 30 July and 7 August 2015 whilst the family were away, the unidentified perpetrators broke a window and entered the house. Everything inside was soon after ransacked, and the burglars stole, amongst others, a laptop, several bottles of wine and a gun.
However, the Police reported that an apologetic message was left in the house in the items' stead, but have not released the exact words that were written.
The Grand Ducal Police have reported 19 break-ins in Luxembourg over the last two weeks, with several more occuring during the weekend.
