The American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg (AMCHAM) has announced that it is organising a seminar on the topic of workplace culture on Wednesday 12 February 2020 at 18:00 at Allen & Overy's new office in the Infinity complex in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

The objective of this seminar is to give a Luxembourg angle to the topic of workplace culture, with first-hand legal and practical experiences. Issues addressed include discrimination, gender equality and mental health in the workplace.

The seminar will last approximately 1.5 hours, divided into two parts:

1. An outline of the legal environment, notably of the gaps between stringent obligations and the reality on the field, with practical considerations as to how these gaps can be closed pragmatically. A focus will be on a process which has been relatively unknown in Luxembourg but has gained a paramount importance in recent years, namely the conduct of internal investigations in case of suspected issues on workplace culture. The speakers will be André Marc (Partner), Gilles Dall’Agnol (Counsel), Sabrina Bodson, Maurice Macchi and Nathaël Malanda (Senior Associates).

2. A panel discussion moderated by the two co-chairs of the AMCHAM HR Group, Petra Silber-Leroux, Head of Human Resources Europe at Lombard International Assurance, and Gilles Dall’Agnol, Employment Law Counsel within Allen & Overy. The exact line-up of the panel will be disclosed shortly and will include prominent industry figures. The focus will lie on practical experiences around how Luxembourg companies, employees and other professionals address workplace culture and where they see room for improvement.

Doors open at 17:30 for a 18:00 start. The seminar will be followed by a cocktail at 19:30.

The seminar is free of charge but registration is obligatory at https://www.amcham.lu/events/workplace-culture/.
